About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate, a Certified Mindfulness-Informed and Certified Complex Trauma-Informed Professional. Additionally, I am trained in IFS (Internal Family Systems) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I work with individuals (aged 13+), couples and families.
As a strengths-based, integrative therapist, I aspire to meet you within a warm, compassionate, non-judgmental space, where you can express yourself freely, feel heard and understood. Believing in the power of a co-created therapeutic relationship, I focus on identifying what health and wellness look like for each unique individual. I am here to help you validate, and embrace your true self, with kindness.
I use the multiple treatment modalities at my disposal, but my emphasis is always to help make our work practical and useful for you in your everyday life. In addition to the talk therapy you are probably familiar with, I am trained in body-based approaches that can help clients foster resources and resiliency within themselves in a way that talk therapy alone often can’t. I believe therapy is both an art and a science, and where appropriate I rely on the considerable body of scientific studies of therapy.
Informed by the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques, and Family Systems Therapy, I work with couples and families. We address and navigate the hurdles within and complexities of relational dynamics, as clients develop an understanding of the intricacies of their relationship. Do you feel unheard, alone, disconnected, and disheartened by the never-ending feedback loops you find yourself in? I will guide you through a process to identify, repair, and strengthen your connection building healthier more satisfying relationships. You, your partner, and family will leave with a toolbox of skills and techniques to practice healthier coping strategies, foster improved communication, and build greater intimacy.
Whether you are an individual, a couple, or a family looking for support, we will work together to help you discover fresh perspectives and engage in psychological, and emotional healing. This process will empower you with a newfound sense of agency in meeting yourself, your relationships, and the world. Often a crisis will bring you into my office, but it may be that you want to grow, or want more out of life. I am committed to humbly meeting my clients where they are in all their diversity.
Reflecting on my own life’s journey, I know even starting the process of therapy can be daunting. I’ve worn a lot of hats in my life, a professional mindfulness trainer, professor, filmmaker, wife, and mom to three, and even an exercise and nutrition enthusiast — all these years of experience have taught me that being of service to others is where my heart is at. I am here to walk alongside you throughout this therapeutic process.
