About Me
I specialize in working with adolescents and adults in individual, group, and couples counseling. I have extensive training and experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and interpersonal relationship issues.
I have received training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which utilizes mindfulness and acceptance to improve the quality of a person’s life. I have also been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, which is an evidence-based practice that focuses on processing traumatic and distressing experiences and emotions to help alleviate associated psychological symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and hypervigilance. I am also trained in Gottman Couples Therapy, which is a type of therapy for couples that focuses on increasing intimacy, affection, and respect in a relationship, while improving communication and conflict management skills. My therapeutic orientation utilizes an integrative approach, which relies most heavily on person-centered, psychodynamic, ACT, and EMDR therapy.
My therapeutic approach is focused on guiding the client to discovering their personal truth while providing a therapeutic environment that allows the client to safely explore their issues in a way that enhances personal growth and development. I utilize a holistic health approach that considers the whole person and their environment and emphasizes the mind, body, spirit connection. With client consent I am happy to work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to offer the best quality of care. I believe that people are capable of great change with the right guidance and support.
